aka The Healthy Hair Method
I mean, who doesn’t want healthy, shiny, strong, luscious hair, right?! Because healthy hair, is a more confident you!
Hair plays such a major role in my confidence & honestly, i used to think that dirty hair was fugly. I would wash my hair at least every other day because I couldn’t stand the feeling of dirty hair. I just felt so DIRTY, you know what i mean?! But one day, in beauty school (fall of 2007), I learned that my dirty hair was actually the MVP in my healthy hair game. That build up of oil that our scalp produces, that most of us can’t stand, is what i like to call LIQUID F**KING GOLD! (More on this later too!) And seriously, if I had a dollar for every time I told someone that I only wash my hair twice a week, man would I be rich. I mean Paris Hilton RICH BITCH! 💰💰💰 (bling ring anyone?)
Well I came up with a very simple, 6 step guide, called the HEALTHY HAIR METHOD. And once you start your healthy hair journey , you will learn to appreciate dirty hair, save $ in hair products, spend less time doing your hair, & collect a bunch of cute hair accessories (clearance section people! <<< more on this later) all while having super healthy bombshell hair!
Now let’s get to the RULES!
- Rule No.1
- Dirty hair rules! Do NOT wash your hair more then TWICE a week. It is possible people, trust me!
- Rule No.2
- Find some new BFF’S. I’m talking about some dry shampoo, braids, top knots, pony tails & hair accessories. These will help you get thru those very long dirty days 😉.
- Rule No.3
- Give those hot tools a break. The less hot tools the better. Rule of thumb, you get 2 days a week to use ONE hot tool. So what I consider to be a hot tool is either a blow dryer (that’s right), curling iron, flat iron, or crimper. For example, I’ll use a blow dryer one of the days and the other day I will let my hair air dry & either use a curling iron or crimper.
Rule No. 4 - Get sweaty! Working out improves blood circulation, which stimulates hair growth. It also gives you endorphins which make you happy. And happy people with good hair just don’t shoot their husbands! LMAO 😭😭😭 okay, okay . . . but really, moving your booty will make you happy with BOMBSHELL hair! Winning!
Rule No.5 - The ingredient list matters. So stop rolling your eyes, grab some glasses & actually take a look at the small fine print on the back of the bottle. Spend your money wisely & only invest in hair products with real, good quality ingredients. I follow the 80/20 rule, because let’s face it, it’s hard to find a great product that avoids all chemicals.
Rule No.6 - V i t a m i n s! Staying on top of your vitamin game is essential in having healthy hair. Wether you focus on healthier foods or choose to take a supplement, (I follow both), both of these will bring you one step closer to stronger, thicker, healthier hair!
If you’re like me, then you like straight foward, simple, easy to follow rules. But I do also like details & specifics, which is why I’m going to break down each rule for you and give you the nitty gritty, with all my JUICY tips, tricks, & secrets.
Please feel free to share any of your healthy hair tips as well!
I hope you enjoy your healthy hair journey & that it brings you never ending happiness & confidence & gorgeous hair of course.
Because remember . . . . . .
